PAID Act Passes the House!

The Provide Accurate Information Directly Act (PAID Act) is very important legislation that we are monitoring closely. This Act provides that, in response to Section 111 queries, CMS will identify whether a claimant is, or during the preceding 3-year period has been, entitled to Medicare as well as Medicare Advantage and/or Prescription Drug Plan coverage and identify each such plan by name and address. The Act was first introduced in the House of Representatives in February, 2019 and in the Senate on June, 2019 and has bipartisan support. On December 8, 2020, the PAID Act passed the House. It now moves on to the Senate.

For those who have struggled with identifying the existence and identity of Medicare Advantage or Prescription Drug Plans when handling claims involving Medicare eligible claimants, the PAID Act is a monumental deal. We will continue to follow its progress and keep you updated.
