REMINDER: Open Debt Report Allows for Addressing On-Demand Debts

We know our clients have many things on their minds right now and we want to do what we can to ease that burden. We thought it would be helpful to remind everyone of the ability to obtain an Open Debt Report (ODR) from the CMS Recovery Portal. The ODR shows the status for open debts on-demand for Non-Group Health Plans (NGHP) insurer-debtor cases. This report is a safe-guard and allows you to address a debt for which you are currently unaware. The data is refreshed nightly, which allows you to have, and utilize, the most timely information. The report is created per account ID and is only visible and available to the Account Manager (AM) for the account ID on CMS’ Recovery Portal. In addition, the ODR will only be available if the accounts receivable has a balance greater than zero ($0). Unfortunately, if the debts go unresolved, they may be referred to the Department of Treasury for collection and could result in offsets from corporate tax refunds.
