Beginning April 1, 2020, CMS will require that the consent form accompanying the Medicare Set-aside proposal include language indicating that the claimant understands the need for the MSA and submission process and approves of the contents of the MSA proposal. This section of the consent form must also include the beneficiary’s initials to indicate their acceptance of this additional provision. If the consent form in your file does not include this statement, it will become outdated at that time. Reach out today and obtain a copy of the updated consent form!
