Under the Medicare Secondary Payer Act (MSPA), an obligation exists to repay Medicare Advantage Plans (MAPs) and Prescription Drug Plans (PDPs) for payments made for treatment in connection with injuries for which a beneficiary receives a settlement, judgment or similar monetary payment.  This webinar will cover the MSPA related to MAPs and PDPs in addition to relevant case law.  We will explore ways to ensure compliance with the law and avoid substantial penalties.

 

This webinar is approved for one hour of continuing education credit by the Department of Insurance in the following states:  AL, AR, CA, CT, DE, FL, GA, IN, KY, LA, NH, NM, NC, OK, RI, TX, VT, WV, and WY.

 

Approval is pending and expected from the Department of Insurance to provide continuing education credit in the states of: MS and NV.

 

Approval is pending and expected for one hour of professional development credit by HRCI (Human Resource Certification Institute) and SHRM (Society for Human Resource Managers) for Human Resource Professionals.
