CMS issued a pre-solicitation notice on April 18, 2022, for its Workers’ Compensation Review Contractor (WCRC). It is noted that CMS anticipates releasing the actual solicitation around May 3, 2022. The anticipated proposal due date will be June 3, 2022, with an anticipated award date of November 14, 2022. The contract will include a 12-month base period plus four one-year options. It is noted that the solicitation was adjusted “due to updates that are currently being made to the Statement of Work (SOW) to include the processing of other Non-Group Health Plan (NGHP) Medicare Set-aside Arrangements.” While that is interesting and noteworthy, the same statement was included in the prior pre-solicitation notice in 2016.

The WCRC is the CMS contractor responsible for reviewing MSAs that are submitted for approval. Capitol Bridge has been the contractor since late 2017. The contract value when it was awarded was over $60 million. The full text of the notice can be found at SAM.gov.
