December 2021 Attorney Spotlight: Amber Parris

This month’s attorney spotlight is on Amber Parris, an attorney in our Birmingham office. With the holiday season in full swing, we thought it would be fun to learn a little more about Amber’s holiday traditions!

What holiday are you most looking forward to?

I love all things Christmas! I decorate almost every room in my house – even wine bottles get festive sweaters. So far, I only have one Christmas tree but a second tree is on my “to-do” list. I grew up with the family tree and my mom’s “formal” Christmas tree with all of her nice (i.e. fragile) ornaments. Just one way I am turning into her.

What are your favorite Christmas traditions?

To me, Christmas is all about time with family. I love to host and make a big Christmas breakfast before we exchange gifts. In Alabama, we rarely have a snowy Christmas, but it’s still fun to bundle up and get outside for a family walk. Then we settle in for some Christmas movies. A Christmas Story and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation must be watched every year. We also usually end up watching Die Hard, which my husband insists is a Christmas movie – a point which is hotly debated!

Any special holiday plans for this year?

We are staying close to home this year and having some family over as we prepare to welcome our first child early next year! I am already planning ahead for Christmas 2022 and cannot wait to start new traditions with our little one. I see matching Christmas pajamas in our future!
